Maintain optimum performance by cleaning your filter

During our testing in salons around the world, we identified there were different salon environments. The environment of your salon will heavily impact how frequently you should conduct a filter clean. We recommend you clean your filter at least monthly or if you experience a drop in product performance or the flashing white LED lights alert you that a filter clean is required.

About the new Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer Professional filter

The Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer Professional has a new filter that is different from previous Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryers. Please ensure you are following the latest guidance while cleaning your filter.

If you own a cleaning brush from a previous Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer kit, do not use it to clean your Dyson Supersonic™ hair dryer Professional filter as it may damage the filter cage. Instead, please only use your fingertips as shown.

Cleaning the filter

Make sure you unplug your machine from the mains electricity supply and allow it to cool down before cleaning your filter unit.

Do not use detergents or polishes.

Hold the handle of your machine and pull the filter unit downwards and onto the cable.

Gently pull open the filter unit and slide it off the cable. Wipe the filter mesh on your machine with a dry, lint-free cloth, to remove any debris.

Leave the filter unit to soak in warm, soapy water for at least 30 minutes. We recommend using a clarifying shampoo or dish soap.

Remove the inner filter from the filter cage.

Using your fingertips, rub gently to thoroughly clean each part. Dust or debris that lines the holes of the filter cage should be visible with the naked eye. Rinse both parts of the filter to remove any debris. Completely dry both parts of the filter with a dry, lint free cloth.

Check that all debris has been removed before placing the inner filter into the filter cage.

Gently pull open the filter unit and slide it onto the cable. Slide the filter unit towards the handle and twist until it snaps into place.

Don’t use your machine without the filter unit attached.
