Dyson AM04 Hot+Cool™ Fan Heater (Iron/Blue)

Let's get your machine working.

See all steps

Please select the appropriate option

Your machine may be hot to the touch if it has been used as a heater in the last couple of hours. Please do not touch the sides of the loop amplifier until it has cooled.

Retry machine at 0°C

On first use, the machine will default to a temperature 1°C higher than the current room temperature.

Thereafter, the machine will remember the last target temperature set.

Image showing the machine emitting cool air at 0 degrees and warm air at 19 degrees.

The heater will not operate unless the target temperature is above the room temperature, or the target temperature is set to 0°C for cooling.

Please retry the machine at temperature setting 0°C.

Has changing the temperature to 0°C resolved the issue?

We're glad the problem's been solved.

Please let us know if there's anything else we can help you with.

Airflow

Ensure the airflow button on the main body is being pressed. If the remote control is not working but the button on the machine is, please select 'Remote control not working'.

Image showing how to change the fan speed on the machine.

Each time the heating mode is selected, it conducts a short calibration cycle. Airflow will be automatically controlled during this cycle and you won't be able to adjust this yourself. To check if the machine is in the calibration cycle, set the machine to oscillate. If it is in the calibration cycle, it will not oscillate.

Once the calibration cycle is complete, the machine will revert to the selected airflow speed and temperature, unless the temperature of the room is above the target temperature. You should then be able to adjust the air speed.

Intermittent power

If the machine has been constantly heating for 9 hours, please select yes.

Has the machine been switched on for 9 hours, or more?

Run time

Dyson fan heaters and hot and cool purifiers have a positive safety feature where the machine deliberately switches off after 9 hours of continuous heating.

If you would like to continue using the machine after 9 hours, you will need to turn the machine back on by using either the power button on the remote control or main body.

Is this the first time the machine is being used?

Machine is working normally

This is completely normal.

The machine will run very slowly when in idle mode to keep air flowing over the thermostat so it can constantly regulate the temperature of the air.

This is a characteristic of the product and cannot be resolved with an exchange or return to base repair.

There is no safety concern.

If the noise is intrusive, switching the machine off at the wall will stop the noise, or altering the position of the product in the room might make the noise less audible.
