Reading Indoor Air Quality

The Dyson air quality scale

Your app combines data from your purifier's
on-board particle and VOC sensors into a single,
easy to understand air quality value.

Measuring particles

Your machine has an optical infrared particle sensor. It
detects particulate matter in the air via reflected light
as it passes through the infrared signal path.

Measuring VOCs

Your purifier is also equipped with a metal oxide
semiconductor sensor. This chemical reacts when
it encounters toxic gases, changing its electrical
resistance which enables detection.

When to change your filter

Your purifier will tell you when the filter needs changing. A light will appear on its LED display, and you’ll get a notification from your app.

How to change your filter?

Before you change your filter, make sure your purifier is turned off. And after you’ve changed your filter, make sure you hold your On/Off button for 6 seconds – it’ll reset you filter life counter.
